In addition to producing reeds for oboe and Cor Anglais, we are also available to give regular or one-off music and reed making lessons and for performance opportunities. Read below for more information on these services.
Reed making lessons
$100/hour
Whether you’re brand-new to oboe reed making or just looking for some extra tips and tricks to perfect your own reeds, consider booking a reed making lesson with us and gain more control over your oboe playing.
Lessons will take place at our home in Stanmore (Sydney) NSW. Alternatively, we can arrange to have the lesson online via Zoom or Google Meet.

Oboe lessons
$100/hour
Oboe lessons are available to all levels and experience with the instrument and will be given by Alex Fontaine.
Alex has tutored oboe for many years to students ranging from approximately 7 years old to 70 and everything in between. From this experience he has learned that for oboe in particular, lessons should be light-hearted and fun most of all - this instrument needs no added stress!
Each lesson is tailored to the student depending on where they are at and what needs most attention, from reeds and adjustment/making, music theory, musicality and the general technical/physical aspects that get the most out of the instrument.
